CRACK INDUCING WATER BARS

Maclennan can supply water bars that will induce cracks where required by engineers, but unlike other induced construction joins – these are totally watertight.

Our crack inducing water bars are a coated metal water bar used for sealing construction joints. On one side is an adhesive, reactive polymer coating, which creates a permanent watertight seal with the surrounding concrete – creating an immediately working water bar through which water cannot pass even  when concrete has shrunk after curing.

Our crack inducing water bars are fast and easy to fit which will reduce expensive and time on site.  It is fitted in place to the reinforcement steel with special clips, so that once the concrete is poured, the water bar is fully embedded, completely preventing water passing through the joint.  Unlike more conventional water bars, which require a kicker upstand, our crack inducing water bar does not as it is not fixed to one of the concrete elements.

It is certified to resist water pressure up to 7 bar and is resistant to all types of naturally occurring ground water types.  The MacLennan crack inducing water bars can be installed in any weather and temperature and are significantly more robust than conventional water bars.
