Pool construction Wiltshire:
MacLennan built a swimming pool of concrete block and concrete lined inside with closed cell insulation and finished with a Polyprufe and Polyaspartic finish.
HISTORY:
This client required a heated pool that retained heat as much as possible and had a speckled finish of the type found in plastic spa’s.
MacLennan offered several options and the decision was made to install the insulation on the inside of the concrete structure and to apply the Polyprufe Pool lining directly over the insulation.
METHODOLOGY:
The pool structure was designed by Solid Structures Engineering. It was formed with concrete block and steel reinforcement, which was in- filled with well compacted and pokered concrete all carried out by MacLennan structural department.
The pool was covered with a temporary roof due to the very wet weather
The inside of the pool was lined with 50mm fully fixed closed cell insulation.

The Polyprufe liner was spray applied first thing in the morning. The liner was dry in 12 seconds and then coated with Polyaspartic and Vinyl flakes were applied and then scraped back to a flat finish.
The system was finished with a final coat of Polyaspartic clear sealer with non slip applied to the steps and slopes.

The whole operation was carried out in one day.
RESULT:
The MacLennan POLYPRUFE pool lining system ensures a waterproofed, chemical & UV
resistant coating. The Polyaspartic finish offers further protection and an aesthetically pleasing finish.

The system is guaranteed for 10 years but the life expectancy is much longer.
Maintenance and repairs can be easily carried out, although this should be unnecessary as the system is extremely durable and difficult to damage.
The system used can also be applied to existing pools and pool refurbishments.
